All you need to know about conditioner!!

Hemera Salon
So first of all, it’s imprtant to know what conditioner actually does!!
After Shampooing the cuticles are open and when you condition it
smooths down the ‘scales’ on the hair cuticle to leave your hair looking soft and shiny again! It seals down the cuticle locking nutrients in and pollutants out and in turn protects the health of the hair.
The condioner we are talking about today is the conditioner you use in your shower or at the basin after shampooing your hair! We are not talking about leave in conditioners/treatments or treatment masks.

So you need to know what condioner to be using in your hair, I strongly advise you to ask your hairdresser for their advice regarding your hair type! We love Joico Shampoos and Conditoners in Hemera as they are pretty much cool proof and ‘do exactly what it says on the tin’
For instance pictured below we have moisture recovery. As the name suggests it is going to add moisture back into your hair. This conditioner is best used for hair that is naturally dry eg curly hair, or hair that is thick and course, if your hair is dry to to chemical or heat damage we may recommend a kpak condioner for you hair!
You are going to shampoo your hair with the recommended shampoo from your hairdresser, then squeeze some of the water out of your hair and apply about a one euro/two euro (depending on hair thickness and length) amount of shampoo into the palm of your hand, run this through the midlengths and ends of your hair. If your hair is particular knotty we recommend using a wide tooth comb to disperse the conditioner throughout the midlengths and ends.

Leave in hair for 2/3 minutes and simply rinse! Make sure conditioner is thoroughly rinsed from the hair as it will leaves residue on your hair and make it quite limp!
DO NOT put conditioner near you roots!! The hair at your root area does not need conditioner and you will make it limp, heavy and greasy looking if you apply conditioner there! So just keep it to the mid lengths and ends.

Leaving a conditioner like this in your hair for 20/30 minutes has no extra benefit! This type of conditioner simply sits on the cuticle to smooth it down, it does not penetrate into the hair shaft to reconstruct the hair, so unfortunately if you are doing this you are waistline you time.
If your hair is damaged and you need to repair it you need a mask, that will penetrate into the hair shaft and reconstruct the hirnfrom the inside out and repairing any damage that might have occurred, these types of masks are to be used approx once weekly! Again ask you hairdresser for Davis won the best mask for your hair should you need one!
Some we love in Hemera are Olaplex step 3, Joico lustre lock and Kpak reconstructor!

Thanks so much for reading, we hope this helped!
